Steven Doris won’t be back in maroon next season after it has been confirmed he has signed for Division One side Dundee.

The 24 year-old, who signed on for the Lichties in 2009 had been courting the interest of several full-time clubs after scoring a memorable equaliser against Celtic at Parkhead in the Scottish Cup last season.

Earlier this year, he went on trial at Birmingham City but the Englsih side were not forthcoming with an offer.

It was also understood he was on the radar of St Mirren and Motherwell but it was announced last night he had signed for the Dens Park side and scored in their pre-season friendly against Montrose.

Arbroath boss Paul Sheerin tweeted: “Gutted 2 be losing Steven Doris but delighted he is back full time our loss is Dundees gain.”
