Arbroath manager Dick Campbell said he was pleasantly surprised by just how good his side were in their 3-0 win over East Stirling.
And the Gayfield gaffer believes there’s no question that the club has underachieved on the park this season.
Campbell added that while Arbroath dominated the game against 10th-placed Shire, he still has a few changes he’d like to make to the team’s play in the coming weeks.
He said: “We fully deserved the victory. We were very professional, and our goals were good. The support play was good.
“I can’t ask for more than that. I’m very pleasantly surprised how well we played, for a team that’s second bottom of the league - we controlled the game.
“No doubt they’ve underachieved this season.
“There are still some things I’d like to tweak but three goals scored and none against at home? I’ll take that.
“If we hadn’t won it was down to two points. The players deserve all the credit for the three points.”
