The 2013/14 season is surely going to be one of the most memorable for our clubs plying their trade in the SPFL League One.

Never is a long time, but it is unlikely that we will have three Angus clubs, Rangers and Dunfermline Athletic all in the same league again in the near future.

Arbroath and Brechin will both face the Ibrox men on four occasions, two of which will be at home and hopefully be money-spinners.

But Forfar Athletic have already struck gold drawing Ally McCoist’s men in the first round of the Ramsdens League Cup at Station Park on Saturday, August 3.

For Dick Campbell’s men that is the ideal start to the campaign with the Loons’ ground sure to be packed to the rafters for the visit of the Teddy Bears.

All three of our local teams have been busy in the transfer market as they bid to make an impression in a fiercely competitive league.

And the Angus County Press newspapers will be with them every step of the way.

Our reporters are not only armed with notebooks these days, the latest laptops and smartphones provide our sports writing teams with a way to provide up to the minute coverage from games.

Whether it is on our websites or through our newspaper Twitter accounts, we will keep you updated with the action.

And keep checking our websites where video content and interviews with management and players will provide you with that little bit of extra coverage mainly exclusive to us.

So, enjoy your football and remember that the Arbroath Herald, Brechin Advertiser and Forfar Dispatch will provide you with the very best coverage of your local team for the exciting season ahead.
