Charity football match

ON SATURDAY afternoon, local ‘Old Firm’ supporters held a charity football match at Ogilvy Park. Spectators paid a £2 admission fee, with all proceeds going to Cancer Research.

The two teams wore their favourite colours and The Old Firm Charity Shield was won by the team wearing the Rangers colours which triumphed 3-1.

Scorers for Rangers were G. Warren (penalty). D. Lawson and J. Jackson and the Celtic goal was scored by R. Owbridge. Referee was Gus Adams with his assistants Duncan Shepherd and Derek Monroe. Team captains were James Jackson for Rangers and Steven Scott for Celtic. Holding the Charity Shield were Tyler Jackson and Kenzie Scott, team mascots.

Wallace Ferrier
