Arbroath Vics frozen out for second time in three weeks

An overnight frost hit Tayside Juniors hard with all matches in the region being postponed.

Arbroath Vics were due to meet Thornton Hibs at home in the league, but a 10 a.m. inspection by local referee Marc Ritchie was merely a formality as Ogilvy Park was rock solid and he immediately declared the pitch unplayable.

Only one match escaped the weather in the McBookie.com North Division and that was over the Tay in Fife where Kennoway Star Hearts kept up their fine run of late with a 3-0 win over Scone Thistle to move into third place.

Tomorrow (Saturday), Vics travel into Perthshire to meet Luncarty in the league at Brownlands Park.

The village side have been perennial strugglers in recent season, but a hefty injection of money has seen them sign several experienced players and they are currently lying in second place in the division with hopes of promotion to the Premier Division.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 1.45 p.m.
