Arbroath Vics back in action

Having been without a match since the first week of December, Arbroath Vics are set to resume their league programme with a home match against Thornton Hibs on Saturday, with the kick-off scheduled for 1.30 p.m.

Vics at least managed to fix up a friendly last Saturday against local amateur side, Arbroath High School FPs, winning by three goals to nil.

Despite the cold conditions, the match proved to be a worthwhile exercise, giving both teams some game time in the stop-start fixture list, which has been badly hit by the weather since the second week in December.

Only one match has taken place in the McBookie.com North Division since Christmas and that was at Brownlands Park on Saturday when Brechin Vics beat hosts Luncarty 5-2 to move up to fourth place in the table.
