Another blank weekend for Vics

ARBROATH Vics were scheduled to meet Downfield in a league match at Ogilvy Park on Saturday, but yet again the weather intervened, causing major disruption to the programme.

Torrential rain from the early hours of Saturday morning left Ogilvy Park in a waterlogged state and the match was called off as early as 9.15 a.m.

Weather permitting, Vics are again scheduled to be at home this Saturday when Dundee Violet check in as visitors in a league fixture. Kick-off is at 2.15 p.m.

Vics have signed local striker, Ryan Owbridge from Forfar West End, the player having previously been across town with ASC and he will be included in the pool for the match against Violet.

Although the weather was kinder in the North Region, allowing several G.A. Engineering Cup ties to proceed, only one match in the North Division survived. The result had no bearing on the top of the table however, with Forfar Albion enjoying a 2-1 win over Coupar Angus to move them up from second bottom to ninth and leaving the Perthshire side firmly entrenched at the foot of the table.
