Blank day for Vics

WITH an odd number of teams in the McBookie.com North Division this season, it was Arbroath Vics’ turn to miss out on a fixture on Saturday.

Despite trying to arrange a friendly, Vics’ efforts proved fruitless and they were forced to have another blank afternoon.

Indeed, Vics have played only four competitive matches since the first week in December, mostly due to frozen pitches, but despite that have only six league matches left.

The first of these is tomorrow (Saturday) when they entertain Lochee Harp. Kick-off is at 2.30 p.m.

Boxing

Charity show

THE ANNUAL charity boxing show is to be held again this year for the 10th time.

The show, organised by Doug Ford will take place at the Waterfront on Friday, June 29, with all proceeds going to local good causes.

Since the first show 10 years ago, £88,000 has been raised and with the show this year, it is hoped the £100,000 barrier can be broken.

And now Doug is looking for volunteers, both men and women, who would like to take part in the show in one of the bouts.

Nine weeks of training will be provided and boxers will get the opportunity to fight in front of 900 people and nominate a local charity.

Anybody interested in taking part can contact Doug on 01241 879383.
