Bookies predict title challenge

AN ONLINE bookmaker has made Arbroath third favourites in next season’s title challenge for Division Two.

McBookie.com have the Lichties at 5/1 just behind favourites Queen of the South, who are then followed by Ayr United.

The bookmaker believes that with Steven Doris signing on for another season, it has given the Gayfield men a boost.

But they added that losing Josh Falkingham and Gavin Swankie may also hinder their chances.

McBookie.com spokesman Paul Petrie said: “Signing Doris was a massive boost for Arbroath as 20 plus-goal-a-season strikers are worth their weight in gold, and had Sheerin managed to retain Falkingham and Swankie, we would have been even shorter than our current odds.”
