ARBROATH and District Athletic Club members had a busy weekend with the National Open at Kelvin Hall, Glasgow, on Saturday followed by the second round of the Running Shop Winter CC Series at Haddo House on Sunday.
Kelvin Hall was the first event in the indoor calendar for athletes aged over 14 years and provided a great opportunity to put winter training into practice on the track.
Anna Robertson, long jump - 3.91; shot putt - 6.44: Niamh Feighan, shot putt - 7.95: Ellen Robertson, long jump - 4.46; triple jump - 9.87: Shona Townsend, shot putt - 7.70. April Hunter, 400m - 1.04.49: Becky Dunphy, 800m - 2.32.74; 1,500m - 5.18.04: Joel McFarlane, 200m - 31.09; long jump - 4.02: Connor Sturrock, 400m - 1.10.21; long jump - 4.14.
At Haddo House, many Arbroath athletes entered into the final event of the series in medal positions with Hamish Sutherland, Ellen Robertson, Becky Dunphy and Fraser Dunphy sitting in pole positions in their age groups.
Try a Trail, aged five to eight - Nairn Beaton, 4.11: Under-11, girls - Shona Chisholm, 11.13; Amy Low, 11.14: Under-13 - girls, Nicola Fairlie, 18.46 (second in series); Anna Robertson, 19.08 (third in series); Kelsey Young, 22.17: Under-15, girls - Natasha Lee, 19.53; boys - Hamish Sutherland, 21.30 ( first in series).
Under-17, women - Ellen Robertson, 25.35 (first in series); men, Ross Croall, 21.11 (third in series): senior women - Becky Dunphy, 21.14 (first in series): senior men - Martin Shepherd, 27.54 (third in series): vet men - Fraser Dunphy, 22.00 (first in series).
