Angus Sports Awards

TICKETS have now gone on sale for the annual Angus Sports Awards ceremony which takes place next month.

The awards honour the commitment, dedication and achievements of sporting stars from Angus whether they play their sports at home or abroad.

The ceremony takes place in the Reid Hall, Forfar, on Tuesday, March 8, from 6.30 p.m. and a total of six awards will be handed out.

The event will be hosted and broadcast on Radio Tay, and British judo fighter Euan Burton will be guest speaker at the event.

Provost of Angus Ruth Leslie Melville said: “The Angus Sports Awards are a fantastic opportunity for the whole Angus community to offer congratulations to all of the performers, coaches, administrators, officials, helpers and volunteers who have represented the county so positively in the sporting environment throughout 2010.

“We hope as many people as possible attend the awards ceremony, which is always an enjoyable event especially with the opportunity to hear from special guest speaker, GB Judo Fighter, Euan Burton”.
