PUPILS at Arbroath Academy took part in a 24 hour sports marathon during Thursday and Friday to raise funds for a new astroturf pitch at the school.

The event started at 10 a.m. on Thursday with pupils taking part in netball and football and the fund-raising effort lasted well into the night, finishing at 9 a.m. on Friday.

Around 60 children from all year groups at the academy took part and there was a presentation of prizes awarded to the best players.
