ARBROATH United Cricket Club held its 12th annual Sportsman's Dinner at Lochlands on Friday night.
A fixture in the club's calendar, the hugely successful event was in aid of the youth coaching programme.
A packed marquee in the cricket club grounds enjoyed a fantastic evening's entertainment.
Gary Burnett acted as MC, introducing the speake
r, former referee Willie Young, who had the audience in stitches with tales from his days as a referee and in his 'day job' as a solicitor.
Comedian Jimmy Stirling followed him and he, too, was on top form, with the capacity audience thoroughly enjoying his act.
A successful raffle and auction swelled the fund-raising coffers further before the evening was brought to a close when club president Neil Burnett gave the vote of thanks, with a special mention for all the ladies who had given up their time to act as waitresses on the night.
