THE ANNUAL Charity Boxing Show at the Waterfront is now only a week away and the organisers, Doug Ford and Scott Cooper, have organised a great line-up of bouts for the occasion.
The event has raised over £46,000 for local and national charities in the six years it has been running and Doug is certain that it will break the £50,000 barrier this year.

He told us: "Little did I think when the first show was organised six years ago that it would prove so hugely popular and still be going now.

Scottish boxing heroes Ken Buchanan and Dick McTaggart have promised to come along next Friday (July 4) and Arbroath FC manager John McGlashan will also be present, as will event supporter Ian Gardiner, of CSS Ltd.

The fighters have been matched as follows: Steve Whyte v Darren McLaren; Glen Thomson v Kriss Stott; Michelle Norval v Kelly Coull; Scott Mathieson v Wayne Strachan; Angela Spink v Carol Shand; Dave Thomson v Mike Garret; Frank Porter v Colin Kennedy; Yvonne Norval v Sam Monaghan; and Neil Quinn v Lee Jones.

Doug said that there are one or two tickets left and they will be available at the door on the night priced at £6.
