THE NEW junior season begins on Wednesday with a derby match between Arbroath SC and Arbroath Vics in Section One of the D.J. Laing Cup. Kick-off is at 6.45 p.m.
Vics have added three new players to last season's squad with three also having departed Ogilvy Park.
New faces are experienced defender Steve Florence, who spent many seasons with Arbroath before finishing his senior career with Forfar Athletic, Craig Anderson, a midfielder who has played at the highest junior level with Tayport, and left sided defender, Craig Sturrock, from ASC.
Those leaving Ogilvy Park are last season's top scorer Craig Watson and Robert Urquhart, who have both moved to Montrose Roselea. Also heading up the coast is Nicky Smith who has been signed up by senior side Montrose.
Vics have so far played four friendlies, winning three and losing one. The victories have came away at Aberdeen Parkvale, 4-0, and at home to Brechin City under-19s, 8-3, and Strathmore Amateurs, 7-2. The one defeat was at home to last season's North Division champions, Broughty Athletic, 2-0.
Vics are also in action tomorrow (Saturday) when they complete their pre-season matches against Arbroath High School FPs at Ogilvy Park. Kick-off is at 2.30 p.m.
