ARBROATH and District Indoor Bowling Club's men's Scottish team travelled to Dalkeith to play their final Scottish League game.
After winning their previous match, the visitors were hoping to record another victory.

However, it was the homesters who made the better start and built up a narrow lead. Arbroath tried to reduce the deficit, but Dalkeith continued to hold the upper hand and went on to win by 16 shots.

This defeat means Arbroath will be relegated from the Premier League.

Ladies' section

The Ladies played against Midlothian at home on Saturday. They started off slowly and after five ends, they were four shots down.

At 10 ends they were 10 shots down, but their fighting spirit got going and at 15 ends they were five shots up.

The visitors, however, played their trump card by bringing up the mat and they began to turn the game around. At 18 ends Arbroath were one shot down, but by 21 ends were 17 down, the final score being Arbroath 67, Midlothian 84.

Midlothian then went on to win against Aberdeen on Sunday.

The league is now complete.

The final will be contested at Tweedbank on Saturday, February 20, between Midlothian and Nithsdale.
