CLEAN SWEEP FOR YOUNG CRICKETERS

A TEAM of young Angus cricketers have swept all before them in a series of mini-hardball cricket tournaments which have taken place throughout the summer.
The talented Angus youngsters fought off challenges from Dundee, Fife and Perth and Kinross in three separate tournaments winning all nine of the their matches.

The team opened up their campaign with three impressive wins over their rivals at the University Playing Fields in St Andrews and continued their winning form with another hat-trick of victories played in the grounds at Kinross House. In the final event held at Lochside Park, Forfar, on Thursday the young cricketers completed their amazing clean sweep turning out three more excellent performances.

The all-conquering youngsters are, from left, back - Joe Parker, Peter Esplin, Scott Fleming, Daniel Fraser and Ryan Cameron, all of Arbroath United Cricket Club: front - Kennedy Gibb, Brechin Cricket Club; Harris Carnegie, Arbroath United; and Jonathan Blackie and Morgan Evans, both Strathmore Cricket Club.
