ANGUS Disability Sport has gained the Silver Angus Club Excellence award. The achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of the club volunteers and demonstrates that they are committed to providing a safe, effective and a child-friendly environment.
The award was presented on Thursday at the Saltire Leisure Centre by Councillor Colin Brown, vice-convener of Angus Council's neighbourhood services committee, to some of the committee of the organisation.
Angus Disability Sport is the 46th club/organisation to achieve an ACE award from the Angus sports development team, which demonstrates the highest level of commitment to the provision of quality sporting opportunities in child-friendly environment.
Development officer Lee McLean said: "It is important that clubs and organisations that deliver sporting opportunities comply with all the legislation to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their members.
"Gaining the ACE Gold Award indicates that Angus Disability Sport is making sure this happens. This presentation demonstrates the excellent work this organisation provides in giving opportunities for local disabled people to take part in sport and physical activities."
