Youth festival to bring a world of talent to Angus

The Aberdeen International Youth Festival (AIYF) is again bringing its outreach programme to the Angus area, giving young people from across the world the chance to showcase their talents to a wider audience.

On Monday, July 28 there will be an evening of dance in Arbroath’s Webster Theatre. Dance companies from across the globe will delight their audience with varied performances of classical and contemporary dance.

The following day Amersfoort Jeugd Orchestra will travel to Arbroath. A prominent youth orchestra in the Netherlands with a repertoire of Tchaikovsky and Franck, classical music enthusiasts are sure to enjoy seeing this orchestra play.

Stonehaven Town Hall will host three diverse companies on July 31. Madison Youth Choirs are travelling to AIYF from the USA. The internationally-acclaimed choir of 80 young voices is sure to uplift audiences. Following them is Blackburn with Darwen Big Band which will get everyone up and dancing. Third on Feis Ros Celidh Trail will provide a party atmosphere with traditional Scottish music.

Madison Youth Choirs will perform again in the beautiful surroundings of Brechin Cathedral on Friday, August 1. Delivering a classical set the choir performs an uplifting and exciting repertoire sure to be even more special given the setting.

AIYF’s Extended Festival offers an opportunity for all and audiences across the region have a variety of performances to choose from, whilst artists travelling to the festival get a chance to visit and perform not only in the city but across the North-east.

Aberdeen International Youth Festival (AIYF) is bringing talent from across the world throughout the North-east.

From Arbroath to Elgin and Brechin to Banff, there will be over 20 performances across the nine-day festival. The Extended Festival will give everyone across the North-east the chance to see some of the world’s most exciting and talented youth performers.

Artists, travelling from as far as South Africa, Japan and the USA, will see the region’s beautiful landscapes and interact with local people. With a variety of performers coming to the Extended Festival there is something for everyone.
