A yard sale in Hemming Street, Letham, on Saturday organised by Sheila and Bob Fraser raised £600 for the Ninewells Cancer Appeal.
This was the latest in a series of fund-raising efforts by Wild Angus - a group of eight retired walking buddies who meet every Thursday to tramp the Angus hills and glens.
The eight, all of whom have been touched by cancer, have raised more than £3,000 over the last eight weeks for the appeal.
Spokesperson for the group, Carol Pope, who is recovering from bowel cancer, said: “Our target is to raise £10,000 over the coming year.
“We’re thrilled with the generosity of the response so far on our website at www.justgiving.com/WildAngus.”
Group members are committed to walking 500 miles over the year to raise funds.
Their next initiative is an ‘Extreme Dining’ experience this weekend at a remote shooting lodge in the Angus Glens, which has already been sold out.
