Fourteen-year-old Dionne Geddes has raised thousands of pounds for various charities and was nominated for her fund-raising and dedication to the community.
Nominator Gillian Ross said: “This young girl dedicates all her time and energy to help raise money for people in need.
“It would be an absolute great surprise for all her hard work that she puts into charity work, to be chosen to switch on the lights.”
Dionne has set up and taken part in numerous challenges and tasks to raise money to support others throughout Arbroath and further afield.
“She is selfless, always putting others before herself.” said mum Marie Coutts.
Helping Dionne switch on the lights will be Santa, making a fleeting visit before heading back to his Grotto in Market Place.
