ARBROATH Male Voice Choir is looking for tenors and basses as members resume their regular practice evenings after the summer break on Monday (August 27) at 7.30 p.m. in Knox’s Church hall, Arbroath.
President Richard Irvine explained: “This is our 78th year of making music and it’s a very exciting time to join the choir. We are currently looking for tenors and basses to swell the ranks. We’re particularly keen to recruit those 30-somethings looking for a new challenge.”
The choir has two major concerts arranged for this season, one at Christmas with Arbroath Instrumental Band and a spring gala concert with special guest, Margaret Keys. Margaret is a young Irish soprano who appeared in the BBC talent show ‘How do you solve a problem like Maria?’ and was awarded the BBC Fame Academy Award in 2008.
Young male singers aged 17 and 18 years can also apply for a choir scholarship of £150 until the middle of September.
