Members of Arbroath Round Table paid a visit to Angus Canoe Club at the weekend to hand over £200 to go towards waterproof dry bags.
The dry bags are essential to the club as they are currently working in partnership with the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme to provide expeditions using open canoes and the number of participants has outgrown the amount of equipment the club has.
Speaking on behalf of Arbroath around Table, Ian Lorimer said: “We look to spend the money we raise and distribute wisely and we felt this request for support from Angus Canoe Club was a good one because it provides kit that many people can get the use of this year and in years to come.”
Alan O’Neill, chairman of Angus Canoe Club, added “We’re really grateful for this donation from Arbroath Round Table. These dry bags are essential pieces of kit as literally everything from food to dry clothes are carried in them whilst out on the water.”
