HAIRDRESSING students at Angus College showcased their creativity last week as part of their end of year show, the Expression Session.
They had been busy designing and creating for the previous month in preparation for the catwalk style show in front of invited guests in the college’s conference centre.
The brief for this year’s event was to present a fashion image reflective of one of three themes: Toybox, Globetrotter and ‘70s Glamour. The students were given free rein to choose their own models and style them with eccentric hair, make-up and clothing. The result was a range of styles from the extreme and quirky to the sleek and high fashion.
Hairdressing tutor Mary Meikle said: “The students have really excelled this year and have produced a diverse range of looks and styles as a result. It’s great to see the students really engaging with the briefs and being so creative with their ideas.
“This exercise gives the students valuable experience in not only designing and styling for the catwalk but it also shows them what goes into putting a show like this together.”
