A well-known former sailor who was a stalwart member of 45 Commando Veterans has died aged 69.
Leonard Wilson died at his home in Rossie Street, Arbroath last Wednesday.
Mr Wilson, also known as ‘Tug’, served in the Royal Navy with the Fleet Air Arm for over 20 years.
He had recently been suffering from ill health and had a stay in Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
However, he had recovered well enough to be out on the town last weekend with friends.
But unfortunately, it was discovered he had passed away at his home last Wednesday.
Members of 45 Commando Veterans described him as a stalwart member and secretary David McCaig said: “ Tug was a dear friend to us all, attending our monthly meetings and travelling to our charity events.
“I will always remember how much Tug enjoyed himself when he came with us to Malta.
“Happy memories, he will be sadly missed.”
