Four injured in Rescobie Loch crash

Police are appealing for witnesses in relation to a serious road accident which occurred near to Rescobie Loch yesterday (Sunday).

At around 3.40 a.m. yesterday a black Peugeot 106 travelling towards Montrose on the B9113 Forfar to Montrose route left the road and overturned.

Police Scotland Tayside Division officers and a trauma team attended and the four occupants of the car were taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.

The driver of the car, a 19-year-old man, is in a critical condition in Ninewells Hospital with head and chest injuries.

The front seat passenger, a 19-year-old man, sustained a head injury and is in a serious but stable condition in Ninewells Hospital.

One of the back seat passengers, a 19-year-old man, sustained a number of facial fractures and underwent surgery in Ninewells Hospital. He’s in a stable condition.

The other backseat passenger, a 17-year-old man, sustained significant bruising but was not seriously injured.

The road was closed for a number of hours to allow crash investigators to examine the scene. It has since been reopened.
