ARBROATH Town Mission Centre was a sea of yellow T-shirts on Friday when service users from the keep fit classes, the Mission lunch club and the day care and craft groups joined in the fun of ‘Fruity Friday’.

The event was a nationwide day of fund-raising organised by the World Cancer Research Fund. The mission’s contribution after a fun-packed day was the magnificent sum of £600.

This was raised through the sale of home baking, groceries, plants, bric-a-brac, craft goods and the special yellow T-shirts designed for the occasion. Monetary donations were also received.

The day was supported by Morrisons supermarket which gave bananas and grapes and the fitness group Curves which donated a supply of groceries.

A spokesperson stated: “Altogether it was a morning of fun and companionship for a very worthy cause which had the full support and involvement of all the staff and volunteers.”
