Tidying up the toon!

If you were in Arbroath last Sunday, you may have seen a dedicated troupe of helpers in the town centre taking part in a ‘Tidy the Toon’ day.

The tidy up activity was supported by Angus Council, Scottish Fire and Rescue and various others from the local community – including AJ Beedie Jewellers and Bridal Heaven, Arbroath Community Council, Keptie Friends and the Timmergreens Action Group, as well as volunteers who were all keen to improve the high street.

Their collective drive was put to good effect via a litter pick, weeding and even cleaning bollards.

The Tidy the Toon day emerged from the recent Arbroath Talks charrette, which identified areas for future planning.

Charrette participants were keen to see public services work together with communities, get involved and make a difference to their town and encourage a sense of local pride.
