The role of Ogilvy Park in the future was the subject of much debate at an open meeting earlier this week.
On Tuesday evening the committee for the Arbroath Vics football team invited the public to share their ideas as to how the ground can be utilised by the wider community.
Neil Hardie from the club said: “The committee of Arbroath Vics were encouraged by ideas put forward at a fruitful open meeting.
“As well as public representation and Angus Council representation, elected members took the time out to attend and amongst ideas brought to the table were opening the ground up to gala days, street football and the possibility of staging concerts.
“Several other ideas were explored, including working more closely with schools in conjunction with the Education Department and these are to be explored more fully at a future meeting, at a date yet to be determined.”
The club is currently considering the possibility of purchasing Ogilvy Park from Angus Council in a Community Asset Transfer and it is understood that this option will be discussed further at the next committee meeting.
