The generosity of Arbroath folk was praised this week after it was revealed that nearly £8,000 had been raised during a national campaign.
The ‘Bite back at hunger’ campaign for Christian Aid Week, which ran from May 12 to 18, raised a grand total of £7,966 from donations in Arbroath.
Elaine Taylor from the Arbroath committee of Christian Aid said: “Arbroath has raised the marvellous sum of £7,966.
“Well done to everyone who helped in any way. This will help so many people.”
The money raised in Arbroath will go toward helping some of the 870 million people affected by famine globally.
