A PAIR of Arbroath newlyweds were presented with a sample of the brand new Red Lichtie tartan to commemorate their wedding day.

Local couple Lyndee Cooper and Ian Adair tied the knot at Arbroath Registrar’s Office on Thursday, which was Valentine’s Day.

Mr Adair had hoped to wear a kilt made of the new tartan which was designed by local artist Steven Patrick Sim.

Unfortunately, the tartan and kilt were unable to be ready for his big day.

But as a wedding gift Steven handed over a framed sample of the Red Lichtie tartan to the happy couple as an alternative.

It is hoped that the tartan will be available soon.
