Participants in Arbroath
‘Relay For Life’ in aid of Cancer Research UK have been
invited to take part in
a nationwide ‘wear your
t-shirt day’ as a fun way to help promote the relay.

Each team member, survivor, carer and committee member is invited to wear their relay
t-shirt on Friday, May 2 wherever and whatever they are doing on the day.

Whether they are at work, school, college, at home or shopping, relayers will be wearing their t-shirt and taking photographs to post on social media sites, along with the message: “I am part of Relay For Life Arbroath.”

Relayers across the UK will be joining in on the day to help publicise Relay For Life and their own local event.

Arbroath Relay For Life chairman Ian Angus said: “T-shirt Friday is a fun way to get everyone involved in promoting Relay for Life and to demonstrate that together we are stronger than cancer!”

On the day of Relay For Life Arbroath runners can expect a celebratory mix of music, games, entertainment, food, fundraising and perhaps a few surprises.

While the event is in full swing, members of each team will take turns to walk around the track for the duration of the relay. All events are overnight as this marks the fact that cancer never sleeps.

Throughout the year, teams of eight to 15 people get together and fundraise in their local communities to support the work of Cancer Research UK.

The Arbroath Relay For Life event takes place on September 20 at Arbroath Cricket Club and starts at 11am. More details can be found at relay.cancerresearchuk.org.
