People living with the effects of cancer are being invited to attend health and wellbeing events across Tayside.

The Tayside Transforming Care After Treatment (TCAT) team, in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and local services, have organised the Living Well sessions in Angus, Dundee and Perth in the coming weeks to help people improve their general health and wellbeing and to manage the effects of their illness.

The Living Well after Bowel Cancer event is taking place at the Dewars Conference Centre in Perth on Tuesday, March 22, between 1pm and 4pm. Information on a wide range of subjects will be available at the event, including advice on exercise, diet, financial matters and a healthy lifestyle.

The Living Well after Head and Neck Cancer Treatment session is being held by the Maggie’s Centre in Dundee on Wednesday, March 30, between 1pm and 4pm. Information will be available on a variety of topics, including coping with dry mouth/swallowing issues, diet, healthy lifestyle, finance and support for family/friends.

The Living Well after Prostate Cancer event will take place at Bruce House, Wellgate in Arbroath on Tuesday, April 12, between 1pm and 4pm. Information will be available on managing the side effects of treatment, advice on finance, benefits and returning to work, diet and exercise and signposting to further support.

Helen Dryden, project lead for Transforming Care After Treatment, said: “After cancer treatment, many people find it helpful to learn what they can do to improve their general health and wellbeing and how to manage the effects of their illness. You, and a family member or friend, are warmly invited to attend these free events.”
