PLANS are in motion for the next set of fund-raising efforts in support of the Arbroath Lifeboat.
Members of Arbroath Ladies’ Lifeboat Guild are back in action following their successful ‘Evening with Annie Gilruth’ by Ann Craig earlier this year.
On Friday, April 26, and Saturday, April 27, there will be a collection in aid of the Arbroath lifeboat outside Tesco.
Then, on Friday, May 17, at 2 p.m. the ladies will hold their annual general meeting in the Royal British Legion Scotland, Helen Street clubrooms.
The short meeting will be followed by a talk and demonstration by a representative of the RAF Leuchars Mountain Rescue Team and one of the ladies’ famous cream teas.
Tickets are £2 and are available from any member or by calling guild president Barbara Cargill on 01241 872097.
June 7 heralds the return of the popular Ladies’ Guild Dinner after a two year absence and it has been organised by vice-president Mo Morrison and her special sub-committee.
The dinner will be held in the Meadowbank Inn at 7 for 7.30 p.m., with a choice of courses and high quality entertainment including singing, some tall tales, a raffle and an auction.
Tickets prices are frozen at the 2011 rate of £35 and are already selling quickly. They are available from Mo on 01241 874066.
The RNLI Shop at the Lifeboat Shed has been completely restocked and refurbished and is open again under the guidance of Mary Gerrard and her team.
The shop is open 2 to 4 p.m. on weekends and also on public holiday Mondays. Summer daily opening hours will run from June to October.
The next meeting of the Arbroath Ladies’ Lifeboat Guild will be held in the Sea Cadet Hall, East Abbey Street, at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 22.
Arrangements will be finalised for the annual general meeting and the revised programme for Arbroath Flag Week commencing on June 24.
