FORMER ARBROATH FC player Charlie Adam has died suddenly at the age of 50.

Mr Adam made 98 appearances for the Lichties between 1991 and 1994, scoring 13 goals.

The Dundee-born player also played for the three other Angus clubs, Montrose, Brechin City and Forfar Athletic as well as St Johnstone, Partick Thistle and Dundee United.

Tayside Police were called to Grampian Gardens in Dundee at 6.30 p.m. yesterday (Monday) following his death.

Officers say there are no suspicious circumstances and with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

His family have asked for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time.
