PREPARATIONS for this year’s Seafront Spectacular are well underway with organisers announcing motorbike display team the Purple Helmets as the main attraction.

The event will take place as always in Victoria Park on Saturday, July 23 with the usual classic cars, steam engines and helicopters.

But new for this year are the Purple Helmets who hail from the Isle of Man and perform daredevil stunts on their motorbikes.

They will be performing throughout the day at Victoria Park and organisers are hoping they will prove to be a major draw.

Also on offer will be a range of entertainment for all the family, as well as competitions for children with great prizes too.

Once again a park and ride system will be in operation to allow easier access to the event site and to reduce waiting times at the entrance.

This year will be the sixth annual extravaganza and the organisers, Arbroath Events will be hoping for an increase to the 15,000 visitors who flocked to last year’s event.
