ROBERT Stevenson returned to Arbroath last Sunday to toast the 200th anniversary of one of his most famous creations.
Courtesy of Arbroath Abbey Timethemes, Mr Stevenson, his wife and other townsfolk met at the gates of the Signal Tower Museum to launch a Year of the Light scotch whisky in honour of the bicentenary of the Bell Rock lighthouse.
The limited edition whisky is only available at the Meadowbank Inn and is a 18 year-old malt from the Tullibardine Distillery.
The label has been designed by artist Nessie Taylor and features a painting of the Bell Rock on the front.
The visitors from 1811 were also joined by representatives of the Year of the Light including Harry Simpson, chair of the Year of the Light steering committee and the Earl of Southesk who is patron of the year-long festival.
