Starter Packs needs your help

Starter Packs Angus is appealing for help in carrying outs its mission to kit out homes for families on low incomes.

They are particularly needing cutlery, and since the charity’s inception in 2003 they have distributed over 50,000 items of cutlery.

To continue to meet this extraordinary demand and continue their good work Starter Packs is appealing for donations of household essentials, however small.

The donations cabin has also been reinstated at the entrance to the Cairnie Loan Recycling Centre and is open seven days a week, for assistance just ask a worker on site or call 01241 878588.

Their premises in the Old Ladyloan School is also in need of a bric-a-brac restock following a busy spell and the sale of this provides an important income to support their charity work.

They support the homeless, ex-forces, the very young and vulnerable older people, and families and individuals may apply for referral through the social work department at Angus Council, Angus Womens’ Aid, the Citizens’ Advice Bureau and many other agencies.

Starter Packs Angus is open Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
