The Arbroath Relay for Life has secured a major sponsorship deal after teaming up with a town hotel for this year’s event.

The Townhouse Hotel on the High Street will be the main sponsor for the Cancer Research UK fund-raiser, which takes place on September 20 and 21 at Arbroath United Cricket Club.

And publican of the Townhouse Hotel Graeme Gersok was eager to get on board with this year’s annual event.

He said: We are delighted to provide this backing for Relay For Life, helping to raise vital funds for cancer research. Cancer is something that touches us all in some way.

“Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer and our community has been hit as hard as any other by that horrible disease. If we at the Townhouse Hotel can play a part in fighting cancer, we are happy to do as much as we can.”

While chair of the organising committee Ian Angus added: “The very generous support we are receiving from the Townhouse Hotel will go a long way in our efforts to make Relay For Life an event for the whole family, involving the whole community; raising as much money we can to help beat cancer.

“We look forward to working with the Townhouse Hotel over the coming months towards that goal.”

Anyone wishing to take part in this year’s Relay For Life in Arbroath can do so by logging on to the Cancer Research UK Relay for Life website and following the links.
