SHOPPERS in the Abbeygate were shown by police how to reduce their risk of becoming the victim of card crime.

Local community liaison officer Constable Gail Hill and crime prevention officer Clare Taylor were on hand to show how cash machines can be tampered with.

Machines have been targeted across the town and the country with criminals installing rogue equipment on machines to steal both card and PIN numbers.

A dummy machine was on display to show examples of these skimming devices and how to avoid them.
