THE PROPRIETORS of the Cairnie Chip Shop donated £877 to the local RNLI which was raised through events to mark the shops’s 50th anniversary.
For a short time, Mike and Krysia Orsi offered half price fish and chips to customers, while at the same time inviting them to make a donation to the Arbroath lifeboat.
And the donations along with sponsorship from Coca Cola and Barrs, meant they were able to hand over a cheque totalling £877.
Mike said: “We have always been supporters of the local lifeboat station, and admired the dedication of the crew, who turn out in all weathers, and risk life and limb, to carry out their duties.
“We understand that the RNLI already has legacies totalling almost three quarters of a million pounds, for the refurbishment of the Arbroath Station, and it our wish that this donation be added to that amount, for the station’s improvement.”
