Multi-channel trade retailer Screwfix is to officially open its first store in Arbroath on Thursday, February 4, in Dens Road.

The new branch will create an additional 13 jobs and is part of the company’s ongoing expansion plans. Screwfix’s new Arbroath store manager, Craig Orrock, is proud of the contribution the new store has made to employment figures in the region.

He told the Herald: “We’ve created 13 brand new vacancies and have employed local people from around the Arbroath area. Our new team includes people of all ages and levels of experience, but the most important requirement is that they have the right attitude and can offer superb customer service. Everyone here is really looking forward to the store opening.”

Tradesmen and DIYers are all invited to attend the Arbroath Screwfix opening at Dens Road where they can also demonstrate their professional skills in a free-to-enter screw drilling competition. The fastest time wins a 40-inch smart TV.

Throughout the store’s launch celebration period, from Thursday, February 4, until Sunday, February 7, all product ranges will carry a 10 per cent discount among other store-specific special offers.

Craig believes that the store’s convenient location and the ability to provide a Click and Collect service, within just five minutes of ordering, will be a real bonus to local tradesmen and DIY enthusiasts.

He said: “I’m confident that we’ve got a great location here in Arbroath. My team and I have already been out and about getting to know local businesses and tradesmen and we’ve all been struck by how friendly everyone has been.”

“At Screwfix we pride ourselves on meeting the needs of today’s busy tradesmen and serious DIYers with a speedy, reliable and convenient service, plus quality value-for-money products. We’re keen to welcome tradesmen and DIY enthusiasts from Arbroath and the surrounding local areas to our new store.”
