AN ARBROATH lady is hoping to rub shoulders with royalty after being recognised for her voluntary work.
Former Arbroath Community Council chair Patricia Millar has been invited to a garden party on Tuesday at Holyrood Palace where Her Majesty the Queen will be in attendance.
Mrs Millar’s invitation came through her work with the Care Inspectorate Scotland and she will be representing the charity at the event.
And she said she was thrilled to be invited to the party and would love the chance to actually meet the Queen.
She explained: “This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity and I’m so chuffed to get invited so I’m really looking forward to it.
“There is only a chance that I will get introduced to Her Majesty but just to be there in the palace gardens is exciting.
“And to know you will be the with members of the royal family will be just fantastic.”
