WELL-KNOWN Arbroath woman Mrs Patricia (Pat) Millar, Union Street East, was rubbing shoulders with royalty and celebrities when she attended the Royal Garden Party at Holyroodhouse, Edinburgh, on Tuesday, July 3.

The event was hosted by Her Majesty The Queen.

Mrs Millar is a former chair of the Royal Burgh of Arbroath Community Council and is now heavily involved with the Arbroath Fairtrade Action Group.

She is chair of the Angus Local Licensing Forum, chair of the Arbroath Ahead Charitable Trust and also sits as a public participant on the South Angus sub-group of the Community Medicine Rehabilitation and Redesign Project run by NHS Tayside.

However, her invitation came about as a representative of the ‘Involving People’ Group which advises the Care Inspectorate about those in care and their carers.

Mrs Millar commented on her return: “It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I had an absolutely marvellous day.

“Unfortunately I did not manage to meet Her Majesty The Queen but on one occasion I was very close. She was dressed in blue and looked stunning”
