ARBROATH Ladies’ Lifeboat Guild took part in a brand new type of meeting last week.
The first of its type, the RNLI cluster meeting was held last Wednesday in the Northern Hotel in Brechin, and was the direct result of suggestions from Ladies’ Guilds across the country.
It was attended by representatives from the various guilds and crews from Arbroath, Forfar, Inverbervie, Kirriemuir, Montrose and Stonehaven.
It will act as a discussion forum for sharing fund-raising ideas, areas of interest and any grassroots concerns.
The meeting was chaired by the RNLI area fund-raising manager for the East Coast of Scotland, Rachel Stewart, and assisted by Anne Scott and Moyra Cruickshank from the Perth office.
Rachel was able to give the ladies an overview of the management and forward planning of the RNLI in Scotland.
A spokesperson for the Arbroath Ladies’ Lifeboat Guild said: “All of the representatives felt that this had been a really valuable get-together, which allowed the free-flowing of ideas and new initiatives to be considered. It was agreed that further meetings should be considered later in the year.”
