Arbroath’s inshore and all-weather lifeboats were launched on Tuesday evening (3rd November) following reports that a person was in the sea close to the West Links area.

A request for assistance was received approximately 5.50pm and both boats launched shortly after.

With visibility poor due to the darkness and foggy conditions, the volunteer RNLI crews arrived quickly on scene but were stood down and returned to station after it was established that the female casualty was no longer in the water and had been taken into the custody of police officers.
