ARBROATH Round Table have secured a return visit from the Forgotten Highlander thanks to public demand following his talk last month.
Alistair Urquhart, author of ‘The Forgotten Highlander’ will give a highly anticipated second talk on his experiences as a Japanese PoW on Tuesday, December 4.
Over 100 people packed into the Gayfield lounge to hear Mr Urquhart’s story of his time building the ‘Death Railway’ and the bridge over the River Kwai, as well as surviving the atomic bomb at Nagasaki.
Round Tabler Jamie Buchan said: “On the night of the original talk, the atmosphere was unbelievable as the audience listened to each story, enthralled by what would come next.
“When we organised the talk, we didn’t expect the sheer volume of people wanting to come along, so rather than disappoint those who couldn’t get tickets first time around, we decided to ask Alistair to do it again to which he has very kindly agreed.
“Having contacted all the original waiting list, there are a few spaces left for those interested in attending.”
Tickets are £5 and are available from Jamie on 07786 036470.
