ARBROATH has had two lifeboats this week, but only one was operational.
RNLB ‘Fisherman’s Friend’ (pictured) was trucked to the town on Thursday to act as relief for the home lifeboat, RNLB ‘Inchcape’, which is having seals on the propeller shafts replaced. The work is being undertaken by RNLI technicians with the able assistance of Arbroath mechanic Allan Russell.
‘Fisherman’s Friend’ spent the early part of the week in the marina, but when she became operational on Wednesday she was moored at the oil quay in the tidal basin.
Inchcape should be back in service either today (Friday) or tomorrow once the repairs have been completed and all the equipment has been moved back.
