With six weeks to go until Relay For Life gets under way at Arbroath United Cricket Club, team captains have been invited to a meeting at the club on Tuesday (August 13) to hear details of the entertainment planned for the event.
With Jivin’ Jim as disc jockey and MC for the day, the event is already guaranteed a high octane afternoon with a wide variety of music to keep all ages entertained. Later in the evening a silent disco will be available to walkers to help them through the twilight hours. This year, the committee has introduced another exciting innovation by adding a new twist to an ever popular game, Rock ‘n’ Roll Bingo. It is just another game that will no doubt prove to be a popular addition to the wide range of entertainment already on offer on the day. And with so much entertainment being provided during the Relay it is sure to be a fun-filled event. Relay chair Alan Loudon said: “With the Limelight Theatre Company and the Abbey Theatre both entering teams, this year there is certain to be plenty of colour and drama. While there is a serious purpose behind Relay for Life, for the most part, the weekend is a celebration of our teams’ fantastic fund-raising effort. It is a weekend when the whole community joins up to support a very worthwhile cause. There is something for everyone and everyone is welcome to come along and join in the fun.” There is still time to enter Relay for Life by logging on to the registration page on the Cancer Research UK website. For more information contact Alana on 07881940418 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Anyone wishing to get involved in any way is welcome to go along to the Cricket Club on Tuesday night at 7.30 p.m.
