There is still time to clean out your garage or shed and help the education of young students in Africa.
Arbroath Rotary Club is looking for donation of old but serviceable bicycles that they can send to Africa as part of the Bikes4Africa Project and the Club will accept donations tomorrow (Saturday) at Morrisons Car Park between 9am and 4pm, alternatively a donation of £10 will pay for the refurbishment and transport of a second hand bicycle.
Danny Gentles, Arbroath Rotary Club’s International Convener the Project Manager for this International Aid project hopes that the Arbroath community will once again support the town’s Rotary Club as they have done on many occasions in the past.
He said: “We will be supporting Bikes4Africa. This project aims to help thousands of children get to school in some of the remotest locations in Africa. This International Project is delivered by jole rider, (pronounced joly rider); an education organisation and registered charity. Bikes4Africa is jole rider’s flagship programme with a mission to change lives through education. This is a great opportunity for your Spring Clean to really change lives for the better so please help us on Saturday the 7th May by Recycling Your Cycle.”
